Cousin "Fake Name" Joe

Cousin "Fake Name" Joe

It was the start of a new week in a new house. After moving essentially every day for 45 days, since we were are only a block from our old house, I have only been able to concentrate on short searches.

Today… Again, I am trying to link my maternal and paternal sides to Joe’s and his family. Today, I once again worked on the map hints in Ancestry to see if I can find family connections. This morning it appears a maternal Norwegian side and a maternal German side could be links to Joe’s family. Of course when the lines are material ancestors, it makes it a little challenging at times.

The point of this quick post is that it helps to include exact birth, marriage, death locations if you have them. In the DNA match part of the Ancestry app, you can see who was born where for both sides of the matches, Being able to drill down to a common town, and timeline is a great “two out of three” when surnames don’t match.

So… now to figure out if the female ancestors I’m researching may be hiding behind non-birth names; second marriages; bad spellings; bad translations; or simply the missing documentation of a sibling.

Wish me luck.
